About
We offer our practice as an SSAT Flex test site to you and your family, as we hope to facilitate convenient and timely SSAT test opportunities for your student(s). You may only take one Flex test in a testing year (August 1 - July 31). After taking a Flex test, any additional SSATs you take in the same testing year must be Standard tests.

Flex Test Administration
The Middle Level SSAT is a multiple-choice test for students currently in grades 5-7 that consists of verbal, quantitative (math), and reading comprehension sections. Click here for more information on the middle level test.
The Upper Level SSAT is a multiple-choice test for students currently in grades 8-11 that consists of verbal, quantitative (math), and reading comprehension sections, plus an unscored writing sample. Familiarity with the format of the test and review of practice questions will make your test-taking experience easier. Click here for more information on the upper level test.
Note: Educational Consultants cannot provide Elementary Level Flex tests. Elementary Level Flex tests may be given only by schools.
We are committed to ensuring that test takers with disabilities and special needs receive reasonable accommodations when taking the SSAT. Accommodations must be submitted to, and pre-approved by the SSAT board prior to registration for the closed flex test. Please note that it is the responsibility of a student's family to provide all equipment, materials, and personnel necessary to support approved accommodations. For more information, please refer to the Testing Accommodation Guide for Students, available on the web. Click here for more information on testing accommodations.
We would love to provide the SSAT closed Flex testing opportunity to your child. We will need some basic information if you choose to go forward.
- Intake Forms for Dean Doering Educational Consultants: The first page of our Dean Doering Educational Consultants office intake is essential as it provides us basic contact information about your student and family. The additional other pages will need to be filled out if any SSAT pre-approved accommodation requests must be met during testing.
- SSAT account creation must be completed prior to registration, if you haven’t already done so, click here to create an account with SSAT.org . Once a Flex date is secured and paid for in advance with our office, you will register online with a personalized registration code we will provide you with.
- SSAT Pre-Approval Required for Accommodations on Test Day: Please provide a copy of your SSAT Accommodations pre-approval to us once received. Only approved accommodations will be accepted on test day.
Note: There is an additional administrative fee associated with Flex testing with educational consultants. Please check with us prior to scheduling testing to determine our current fee structure. Weekend or holiday dates may be available at an increased cost.
- Call our SSAT Proctor, Dennis Doering at (Office: 206-324-3344) and arrange payment for your requested closed flex testing services
- Fill out our intake form and return it immediately to us (this info is necessary for us to pre-register your time slot)
- We will look at available dates for your test requirement
- Our team will then enroll you for a Flex test date with SSAT and obtain a personalized registration code
- We will send that Registration Code to you so that you may complete your online registration on the SSAT website
- Special Accommodations: Must be PRE-APPROVED BY SSAT prior to requesting accommodations at time of scheduling or testing. Please make sure that this has been done prior to registration
- Testing, once completed, is FedEx’d to the SSAT board for scoring. Please allow several days for this to be scored.
